There was no real plan in place when I started making this scrap quilt but it seems it has been seconded to my little girl. I could barely lay the quilt on the floor to take pictures without her laying on it and asking for a 'picnic'.
I did a little fussy cut for the centre. This is Darby's favourite character Poppy from the Troll movie. Traditional Log Cabin quilts have a red centre to symbolise the heart of the home. You know me though, I like to turn things on their head!
I loved making the Quilts of Valour quilts last month and used the same log cabin block pattern. This pattern calls for scraps of jelly rolls and other 2.5 " strips.
This particular quilt was made with pink scraps from the 'real' quilt I am making Darby! I guess she will have two!
I'm so happy with how this turned out. I used a magenta coloured cuddle with the 'Echo Blossoms' panto. I love, love, love how it turned out!
Darby was procrastinating a bit when she should have been brushing her teeth.
I am tickled with this quilt and am busy cutting up more scraps to make another. This is my summer to detsash and I have been making a pretty hefty dent!
Happy summer sewing!
